Woopie cushions: check. Prank calls: check. Short-sheeting the bed: check. What do all these pranks have in common? April Fools Day!! Kids rule in this holiday, and you better watch out or else you might get pranked. Here are some of the Heathcote Herald staff’s favorite pranks:
- Meena: “Prank calling my friends and pretend to sell them a fake product (ex. inflatable underpants).”
- Georgia: “Switching my sister’s toothpaste with shaving cream.”
- Emma: “Taking a soda can, emptying it out, putting in water with pepper and serving it to somebody.”
- Lana: “Prank calling my family.”
- Lilly: “Swap out the cream in the Oreo for white toothpaste, and give it to someone.”
The pranking “rules” vary in different counties. In the UK, if you pull a prank on someone, you shout “April fool” and the victim becomes the “April fool”. But if you pull a joke after midday, you become the “April fool”. In Ireland it is traditional to give an “important letter” to a certain person, then they pass it on to someone else, and when it is finally opened, it says “send the fool further”. In all, April Fools day is a day to run wild!!
