The Rise and Fall of TWA

by Jack

TWA is an Airline that went out of business in 2001, because of bankruptcy. Several flights made it almost impossible for them to ever fly again. The first plane EVER to crash on TWA was Flight 553. The plane was descending towards the airport when a Beechcraft Baron private jet crashed head-on. The second crash was TWA Flight 159. It overshot the runway after an abort takeoff. The WORST crash TWA ever had was Flight 800. Shortly after takeoff, the plane blew up over the Long Island Sound. The nose fell out from the plane and then the rest of the plane went up, stalled, then came down. The NTSB was only able to put together the main part of the plane. The rest of it was never recovered. This is why people don’t fly TWA.  File:Logo der Trans World ...

Fraunces Tavern - a food review

by Sophie

Fraunces Tavern is a restaurant /museum. I went on Sunday and I saw a lot of interesting things I saw a piece of George Washington’s hair and John Adams tooth and I saw a rifle that he actually used. I think that this place is really historic.  I also saw a sash that had blood because this person was shot in war.

HExpo 2017 - Katie

by Katie

On Saturday, 3/18/17, Heathcote had HExpo. I missed my first class, sewing because I had to go to the doctor. My second station was seeing in 3D. Now I know how to do all this 3D stuff. Too bad we didn’t get to print out our projects. I did 3 projects. My friend Claire. B was there with me too. She did 1 or 2 projects. Same thing with my friend Mia. Claire. B’s and Mia’s are so pretty!! I also did fashion arts studio. I did a messed up drawing but the teacher said it was great! She even wanted to show the other girls. I also did draping. I didn’t do the whole shirt. I only did half of the shirt. But at home, I did the other half. It’s not sewn together yet. That’s the end of my HExpo!

Traditional Food in China

by Xiyan

After all, I am chinese, so researching about this topic was very easy. Let’s first start with the most popular and traditional, Dumplings. The fillings usually inside are pork or cabbage. You can also have Fried Dumplings. In my opinion, they are delicious!

Dominican republic - a travel journal

by Katie

On winter break, I went to Dominican Republic. The plane ride took 4 hours. I wanted to go swimming when we came but we ended up not doing it. I found a GIANT chess board with GIANT chess pieces next to a ping pong station. First I played against Lucka’s little brother that is a 9 year old. He took all my chess pieces away. I only had a king left. Then I played against Cedric. On Sunday, my dad joined the ping pong lessons. He almost came to the finals, but the game before the finals, my dad lost!

Skiing - a travel journal

by Sophie

Have you ever been to Colorado? Well if you haven’t this a time to lean a little about it. I can tell you one thing I enjoy is the skiing in Colorado. I went skiing there for 5 days it was really fun most of the mountains are steep but there is some green. Everyone is a different level the highest level is 8 I am on a 5 the lowest you can get is one. The ski instructors say  you move up it is good to stay on the same level just one more day or else it can get to hard.
