Construction Kids

Construction Kids this year taught the 5th graders about building. For example, we learned to use a hammer and we built something like a pinball machine but with a marble. It was easier than what I thought it would be to make it. The materials we needed were: Wood, Nails, Marker, Marble, and a Hammer. All we really needed to do is mark the path on where we wanted the marble to go, then place the wood down, place a nail over it, and hammer the nail down until we thought it was hammered enough.

Atlantis

Are you looking for a vacation spot? Well then it’s a good thing you're reading this because I have the place for you! ATLANTIS! It’s a place where dreams come true, plus there is a ton of water activities. For example, lazy river/rapids/power tower, dolphin key, leap of faith (where you go threw a shark tube) and hair braiding. If you want to take a rest, but still have fun you can go to the dig. The dig is the same thing as an aquarium. The lazy river is not lazy. There is a part where there  are two choices: power tower or rapids. Rapids are when you go through rapids and waves. Power tower is when you go into a tower and there are two choices. One the falls and two is the drop. The falls is like a water roller coaster. The drop is a roller coaster in the dark with a little light. Go to Atlantis!

    

                                                                

The school play

The school play happened on Saturday, February 7. There were two casts, Cast A and Cast B. The play was Annie and the producers were KJK Productions. The songs were Hard Knock Life, Tomorrow, Little Girls, I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here, N.Y.C, Easy Street and Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile.  The main characters were Annie, Mr. Warbucks, Grace, Ms. Hannigan, Pepper, Duffy, Molly, July and Tessie.  

Tanki Online

Do you play Tanki Online? It is a video game you can find online. It is very fun. The cool thing is that you can play it for free and it is online. The goal is you must destroy a lot of things and you will earn some crystals and then you buy hulls. You must play it on the computer and the buttons are confusing. Good luck!

Newbery Award 2015

The Newbery Award is an award given to children’s books.The 2015 winner for the Medal is The Crossover by Kwame Alexander. This book is written in verse. That means that the book is written in poems. The 2015 winners for Honor book is El Deafo and Brown Girl Dreaming. El Deafo and Brown Girl Dreaming are both based on the author's real life experience. El Deafo was written by CeCe Bell. Brown Girl Dreaming was written by Jacqueline Woodson.       

Valentine’s Day

A special holiday is coming up on Saturday, February 14. It is VALENTINE’S DAY! That is the day that represents love and family.

On Valentine’s Day, sometimes people buy flowers and candies for their loved ones. Most of the time you give cards and presents plus a nice dinner. Valentine’s day is not just about all this stuff, it’s about being with your loved ones too.
