Annie Review

Kyra S. and Meena V.

The new Annie came out on December 19, 2014. The movie was rated five stars by IMDb. We would rate it five stars too! The movie is about a foster kid, who lives with her mean foster mom, and sees her life change when business tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks makes a thinly veiled move and took her in. Annie is played by Quvenzhané Wallis, Jamie Foxx is Will Stacks, Rose Byrne is Grace and Cameron Diaz is Ms. Hannigan...

Guppies

by Allie

I just got a Guppy on Monday! Guppies are fish that have big tails and eyes are on their sides. Guppies are freshwater fish. That means they need a filter for freshwater, not saltwater. A filter filters the water so that the fish can live in it and reduces the chances of the fish dying.  Female Guppies are bigger than the males. I recommend getting a book about how to care for fish before getting one. You never know if the person who helps you with the fish forgets to mention something. My person forgot to tell us something! The person did not tell us that we need an air pump and sadly, most of my fish died ;(. My Dad promised me that I would get more fish.

St. Patricks Day

By Kyra S.

St. Patricks Day (or The Feast of Saint Patrick) is on March 17. It is the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland. It was officially named a feast day in the early 17th century. The shamrock, pot of gold and leprechaun are also associated with St. Patrick’s Day. The shamrock is worn as a lapel. Three is Ireland’s lucky number and the three petals that make up the shamrock is supposed to bring good luck. Many people wear green on St. Patrick’s Day.

Cinderella Movie

By Allison

I saw the Cinderella Movie last Sunday!! It was great, I also saw Frozen Fever! Frozen fever was great! The song was great because it had a little “Let It Go” in it. It was similar to the deleted song “Life’s Too Short”. That song was originally suppose to be “For The First Time In Forever Reprise”. What I mean by that it was suppose to be the song for the scene when Anna gets shot with ice in her heart by Elsa. Frozen Fever was not a sequel to Frozen it was a short film based off from the movie. Disney has announced there will be a second frozen coming in the summer.

Clash of Clans

by Maxwell Z.

Have you ever played Clash of Clans? If you have then you know how awesome it is. If you haven’t  then I will explain the rules and the idea of the game.
The idea of the game is to build a base and defend it.  Your goal is to defend your town hall and collect loot to upgrade your defenses, storages, and resources. You collect trophies by winning an attack against a base. To win an attack against a base, you need to get at least one star.

Maxwell stayed home and relaxed. Kenneth went skiing. These are all the exciting things the Heathcote Harold staff did over the February break.

Herald updates!

Hello faithful readers,

We are in the process of a redesign. During our staff meeting today we decided to standardize our fonts and sizes. We also decided to split long articles onto two pages, just like professional newspapers.

Our new fonts and sizes:

  • headline: Courier (bold), 24pt
  • byline: Trebuchet, Normal
  • article: Arial, Large

To read past the first paragraph of an article:

  • click on the headline
    • or
  • look for the "Read more" link at the end of the first paragraph

Enjoy the new fonts and styles and stay tuned for more updates!
