Fostering a Dog

By: Hope

Imagine being stuck in a shelter with a bunch of barking dogs? Imagine how nice it would be to have a family take care of you until you actually get adopted and have a forever home? You might think it is mean that the animal will have to adapt to so many places, but it is actually nice because the dog will get love and care and probably more attention!

I am fostering a dog and the shelter gave my family everything. A crate, a leash, some toys, and obviously the dog. They even gave us the food. If we need more they will give us more at the “Meet and Greet” where I got the dog my family is fostering. We have to bring it back to the shelter every Saturday for a “Meet and Greet” so that people can come and see if they want to adopt any of the dogs that they see. Some of the dogs that are at the shelter came from the pound. If you don’t like the dog then you can give it back. If you decide that you love the dog that you are fostering, you can adopt it in just a second!

Dogs are a great companion, and fostering one is a great way to see if you want one. Try it today!
