Series of Unfortunate Events Summary: a book review

By: Ronald, Joning, and Bora

The Series of Unfortunate Events is a 13 book series by Lemony Snicket (David Handler). This miserable series is sad. If you don’t like sad things then I suggest you don’t read the series and read another book. The main characters are Count Olaf, Violet Baudelaire, Klaus Baudelaire, and Sunny Baudelaire.  The main plot is Count Olaf and trying to steal the Baudelaire Fortune.

The Baudelaire's finally learned that their parents were dead after a horrible fire that raged their mansion. The siblings are sent to many guardians appointed by Mr. Poe. Mr. Poe is a man who seems to always have a cold. Mr. Poe is the Vice President in charge of the orphan’s affairs at the Mulctuary Money Management bank (and isn’t the smartest guy you know). Count Olaf is always coming up with plans to get the fortune and is always SO close to getting the Baudelaire fortune. Violet, Sunny, and Klaus always pull clever ways to keep their fortune, but as they progress through the series the objective for the Baudelaire orphans, changes from keeping their fortune to staying alive, after a while they figure out that their parents and a few of their friends were part of a secret organization called V.F.D. In each story they learn a horrible truth and can’t seem to break their unfortunate cycle.

Even though this book is sad, it will surely “hook” you in a net that makes you read these books forever.

This is Daniel Handler
(aka Lemony Snicket, the

author)
